NYS Assemblymember Didi Barrett joined DLC Board Member/retired Cornell Cooperative Extension Agent and Ag. Educator Dave Tetor and John Clark, retired Development and Design Coordinator for the Dutchess County Dept. of Planning and Development, who received awards from the Northern Dutchess Alliance today.
Dave received the Commitment to Community Award for his many years of service, leadership, long-term commitment, and heartfelt devotion to agriculture, working with farmers to strengthen our local agricultural economy.
John received the Charting our Course Award for working to provide a regional vision with regard to well planned growth including Greenway Connections, the Greenway Compact program and guides for Dutchess County communities.
Didi has been a long-time supporter of, and advocate for, agriculture, land conservation, and intelligent and sustainable growth that retains our rural character.
The Northern Dutchess Alliance works with its member communities to understand the connections between a healthy economy, open space preservation, land use planning, affordable housing, property taxes, transportation and tourism, all while striving for inter-municipal cooperation to identify solutions that benefit our region as a whole.
