The Dutchess Land Conservancy (DLC) and Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) thank you for joining us at our 2019 Down to Earth Workshop Series.
Held each year, this 3-part series offers interactive learning opportunities for both farmers and landowners seeking to lease farmland or prepare their farm to transition to the next generation.
This year’s topics included:
Finding Your Way to Land Tenure which helped beginning farmers identify the pros and cons of different farmland tenure arrangements including leases, farm purchases, and conservation easements; and Understanding the NYS Agricultural Tax Assessment Program and Evaluating Farmland which helped farmers and landowners better understand the rules and details of the NYS Agricultural Tax Assessment Program.
All programs are free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you next year!
These workshops are made possible through support by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Land Access Outreach Grant #AGM01-T00066GG-3000000 and a Hudson Valley Partner Grant provided by the American Farmland Trust (AFT). Each workshop will incorporate materials from AFT’s Land Access Trainer curriculum.
