Join the Dutchess Land Conservancy and Audubon New York for a morning bird walk, Saturday May 14 at 8:00am at Audubon New York’s Buttercup Farm Sanctuary in Stanfordville, NY.
As we walk, we will learn to use Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Merlin Bird ID application, along with their bird list application, eBird. Feel free to join us to simply learn about our local species, their habitat, and how you can help support birds in your yards and communities. It is not required, but you can also download eBird and Merlin Bird ID to your smart devices to help support the scientific community. We will train you to use these simple but effective tools, which supports the world’s largest database of bird information, powering new data-driven approaches to science, conservation and education.
What to bring:
- Clothing to format the weather
- Your smart device with eBird and Merlin ID
- A note pad and pen/pencil
- Waterproof footwear if possible
Where to meet:
