COLLECTED INFORMATION: WHAT, WHEN, AND HOW
We may collect personal information, such as your name, title, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address or your company’s name (collectively, “Your Information”) when you choose to share it with us directly, through mail correspondence, or by requesting information online. In addition, we will collect your credit card information when you make a direct, mail or online donation. We will use “Your Information” to provide you with the information you request. If you provide your postal address, telephone number or e-mail address to DLC, you may receive periodic contacts from us.
Website Usage Data
Our Web server automatically recognizes and collects the domain name of each visitor to our website. We collect information about visitors to our site, such as the number of visitors, what pages they access, and the length of their visit. This information is used in aggregate form in order to manage our Web site and improve its content.
Information Collected Through E-mails
When someone opens an e-mail sent by DLC, DLC may receive a confirmation that our e-mail message has been opened, if the recipient’s computer supports such functionality. DLC may also archive e-mails that DLC sends to or receives from you.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
DLC will not share any of “Your Information” or your credit card information with third parties for solicitation purposes.
DLC does not sell or otherwise provide your email address to third parties for mass mailings; however, we may occasionally send you mailings regarding events, products or services offered by reputable third parties if we think they may be of interest to you. In such circumstances, we do not provide the third party with your email, mailing address, or other contact information but rather send the mailing directly from DLC.
DLC may provide “Your Information” to trusted partners, employees and volunteers who work on behalf of or with DLC to assist them in executing their DLC related responsibility. DLC’s auditors, legal counsel and other contractors are authorized to review DLC’s records as required for the purposes for which they are engaged.
DLC reserves the right to disclose information collected by us in circumstances that we deem necessary or appropriate, such as to respond to legal process or request from a governmental agency, security reasons or similar situations.
DLC stores all collected electronic data in a password-protected database. We maintain our own e-mail and mailing lists. High-grade encryption is used to protect your credit card information.
If at any time you wish to stop receiving electronic communications from DLC, or be removed from our email list, you may unsubscribe from that list as explained in each message. If you wish to stop receiving solicitations or other communications from DLC through the mail, you may contact us by phone at (845) 677-3002 or by e-mail at email@example.com, or by writing to us with your request at: Dutchess Land Conservancy, P.O. Box 138, Millbrook, NY 12545.
