A walk through the Buttercup Farm Audubon Sanctuary revealed many early summer wildflowers.
Led by preserve manager Dave Decker of the Audubon Society, DLC guests ambled through the lushness of the Buttercup Farm Audubon Sanctuary in Stanfordville on the first day of summer, discovering the natural wonders contained therein. Dave educated everyone on the benefits of the native wildflowers while also cautioning them on the hazards of the many invasive species that have intruded upon even our most beautiful natural settings. It was a magical evening, made even moreso by the large turnout, the guests' enthusiasm, and their inquisitiveness.
