DLC Director of Education Julie Hart led a presentation on the last 15,000 years of landscape history.
At the Millbrook Library, DLC Director of Education Julie Hart presented 15,000 years of history - from the last Ice Age to the present day - to a fascinated audience consisting of members of the Millbrook Historical Society and the general public. From the Laurentide ice sheet's expansion and retreat through the indigenous peoples who inhabited the land for thousands of years, to the coming of European settlers and eventual paved roads and shopping malls, Julie showed the story that the landscape tells us of stones and trees being moved by forces both global and local, and the soil that provides a foundation and a boundary between rock and sky.
