The DLC awarded scholarships to deserving 4-H'ers at the Dutchess County Fair.
On a gorgeous late summer evening at the Dutchess County Fair, the DLC's Julie Hart and Doug Ohlandt awarded scholarships to eighteen 4-H'ers. The scholarships were awarded to help pay for the costs associated with attending the Fair. As part of the application, 4-H'ers were asked to write an essay detailing how they've had an impact on the environment, what makes someone a good farmer, or things they have learned or experienced that have helped them to take good care of the natural resources in Dutchess County. We'll be sharing some of what the 4-H'ers wrote on our website and in our newsletters. Funds for the scholarships were provided by the Dutchess Land Conservancy and Dutchess County 4-H.
