Director of Conservation
Erin Hoagland implements the DLC’s land conservation program, working with landowners to negotiate conservation easements which balance protection of natural resources and scenic beauty with their continued use of the land. She plays a key role in working with a variety of community partners, collaborating with local, regional, and state entities to secure funding for farmland protection, and oversees all aspects of due diligence in land transactions. Growing up in the rural community of Red Hook, Erin has long benefitted from the land protection efforts of organizations like the DLC and is gratified to help build upon the work that helps to give Dutchess County its unmatched sense of place. Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Marist College and enjoys travel, as well as hiking, skiing, boating and camping throughout the Hudson Valley Region and beyond.
