Director of Development
As Development Director, Karen Karis is responsible for designing, developing and directing all aspects of the DLC’s fundraising activities including annual giving, major gifts, special events, grants, corporate support, planned-giving and special fundraising campaigns, as well as creating and implementing the DLC’s Five-Year Strategic Fundraising and Annual Fundraising Plans. Karen joined the DLC's staff in 2010 as Office Manager and through several years of in-house training in the development field, transitioned professionally to her current position. She holds a B.S. from Johnson & Wales University. Karen volunteers with the Pleasant Valley Library, loves puzzles, board games and spending time outdoors.
