Join photographer Brian Kelley for a fascinating look at the oldest and largest trees found in the United States.
Photographer and archivist Brian Kelley has been documenting the oldest and largest trees in the United States for the last seven years with the mission to visually preserve their legacy and show the constant shifting baseline in how we perceive trees in our everyday lives. Join Brian as he shares his experiences working to catalog some of the biggest and most ancient living things on the planet.
Brian Kelley (b. 1988 Horseheads, NY) moved to New York City in 2006 and received his BFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts. Kelley's extensive work in still-life photography continues to support his artistic pursuit of providing to the cultural archive of American ephemera and landscapes. He builds on a variety of long-term projects such as Gathering Growth Foundation's visual archive of the oldest and largest trees in the US, the National Park Service's Brochures Archive, and the Archive of New York City Transit Artifacts.
