In part two of our trail building and maintenance series, a group of hard-working volunteers spent a morning at Thompson Pond Preserve.
On Saturday, July 16 volunteers gathered early in the morning at the trailhead near Lake Road in Pine Plains, NY for a day of trail work. The second of our three volunteer days at The Nature Conservancy's Thompson Pond Preserve, these hard-working folks constructed new approaches to the bridge built on our first trail work day. A portion of the trail system was rerouted to protect important ecosystems and habitats. Their efforts will help improve the trail system in this beautiful preserve and accesibility to an ecologically and geologically unique area. Keep an eye on our Events Page for the third part of our trail work series at Thompson Pond Preserve and for other upcoming volunteer opportunities.
